Dear Lab Families,
We will be moving to virtual classes (no on-site classes) at The Lab starting TOMORROW, Monday March 16th, 2020 using the ZOOM video conferencing platform. Several of our students tested it with us on Friday and it worked very well. Following are instructions for how to join.
Times for Mr. T's class and format:
Mr. T's class will meet on-line for their regular class schedule:
9 -3 Monday-Thursday
9-1 Friday
For Mr. T's class, we will be facilitating all the regular classes (Community meeting, Readers and Writers Workshop, Academic time, Moby time, and Curiosity Studios/PBL) on-line at their regularly scheduled times.
Times for K-3rd class and format
For K-3rd grade class, we will be holding a 2-hour on-line Readers and Writers Workshop and PBL Curiosity Studio session each day. We will be adding additional classes later in the week as we determine the best approach for engaging our K-3rd students in distance learning. So watch for announcements.
K-3rd Class online schedule:
9:30-11:30 M-Fr
Instructions for participating in The Lab's virtual classes
We will be using the ZOOM video conferencing platform to hold classes.
Your child will need a computer or a chromebook able to download the ZOOM app.
Please help your child identify a quiet, comfortable spot in your home to participate from.
Please make sure your child has paper, pencils, pens, colors and a book to read at their reading level by the computer they will be using.
Parents of 4th-8th grade students. We anticipate your child will be able to navigate the virtual meeting platform after the initial log-on.
Parents of K-3rd grade students. Your child will need help logging-on to the session each morning. We encourage you to stay with them during the 2-hour group class session and "attend" class with them if you are able to.
Please call Lyndee (626-833-8270) or Mr. T (323-244-5078) if you have trouble logging on and they will walk you through the process.
