May I apply instructional funds from my child's charter to pay for Lab classes?

Yes, if we are an approved vendor for your charter school, you can request to apply instructional funds to our fees.  If you chose to do this, you will need to request that your EF or Supervising Teacher submit a PO for the semester or courses you plan to attend.   We must receive a PO from your charter before your child can begin classes.

You may also private pay for our classes through Pay Pal, cash or credit-card.

Payment is due on the 1st of each month for private pay students.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, we provide needs-based scholarships for students who qualify for financial assistance.  Please ask for more information on requirements when you schedule a tour.

What happens if we decide to dis-enroll?

We plan our staffing and daily programming based on semester enrollment.   To give us time to adjust in response to changes in enrollment, we require 30-days written notice if you plan to dis-enroll before the end of the semester.

I'm new to homeschooling.  Can you help me find out how to enroll my child in a homeschool charter?

We would be happy to help you connect with the homeschooling community and to make recommendations of homeschool and independent study charters to consider.  Just ask.

All of the Independent Study charter schools are full right now. My child is on the waiting list.   Is there a way I can still attend classes at The Lab?

Yes.  You can private pay for classes.  We accept Pay Pal, cash and credit cards and have a limited number of scholarships available.  Many families are experiencing the same problem this year due to AB 77/SB 98.   One option you may want to consider if you still want to homeschool your child this Fall is to file a private school affidavit (PSA) with the state as an alternative to enrolling in an independent study charter school.  You will not receive teacher assistance, curriculum or instructional funds that you receive from a public independent study charter which means you will need to pay-out-of pocket for educational resources like curriculum and enrichment classes offered by organizations like the The Lab.  PSAs are due in October 2020 but can be filed after that if needed.  Click here or more information on how to file a private school affidavit for your child/children.
