Dear Lab Families,
News and updates for the Week of October 28th, 2019
FALL FEEDBACK SURVEY RESULTS ARE IN
Fall Feedback Survey. Thank you everyone for the great feedback on our Lab Survey. It was VERY POSITIVE and VERY HELPFUL. We had 30 parents and caregivers respond to the survey. Almost everyone -ninety-three percent (93%/n=28) - reported being Satisfied or Very Satisfied with their child's experience at The Lab this Fall. Ninety-six percent (96%/n=29) reported being Satisfied or Very Satisfied with their own experience as parents and caregivers at The Lab.
Recommendations for improvement included: healthier snack options (no chocolate milk, soda, chips etc.), clearer sign-posting and explanations on the website, more advance notice of student presentations and events, more donations to keep the Lab open, and more work increasing our sense of community.
Things people LIKE and LOVE about the Lab include: the structure without too much rigidity, the communication between staff and parents, the environment and respect for each child's development, EVERYTHING!, the creative writing, the sense of community and camaraderie, the diverse curriculum and the great teaching!
In response to the survey, we are already at work on the website to improve the sign-posting, we will be discussing bringing in healthier snacks this Friday during staff meeting and with our parent volunteers, and Lyndee is working with the teachers to get their author's chairs and Curiosity Studios/PBL on the calendar sooner.
So be sure to read our weekly updates/newsletters (this weekly communication) so you are in the know!
If you have any other recommendations or thoughts that you didn't have a chance to share on the survey, please email them to lyndee.knox@lablearning.org and we will get them in the mix!
KEEP THE LAB OPEN FOR A LONG TIME. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE.
Fundraising campaign. If you love the Lab, it needs your love back! We are 20% of the way to our fundraising goal but only 25% of our Lab families are participating so far. If you have not made a pledge or donated yet, please do. Even if it is only a small amount. Help us keep our doors open for a long time! Click here to enter a pledge or donate.
