Fall Classes start Sept. 8th

Super September is rapidly approaching!  We are excited to be back and welcome you all back!

The Lab will be holding on-site classes starting September 8th, as well as providing a simultaneous on-line attendance option for those who are unable to attend in-person.

We are limiting our on-site enrollment spaces to 25 students in Mr. T’s class (4th-8th) and 15 for the younger class (K -4th) to help us with social distancing in following the Health Department's Guidelines while students are on-site.  We will have an additional 8 spaces available for on-line participants for Mr. T’s class, and also 8 for the K-4th grade class.

We have had to make some changes to the physical space and  the rooms are being reconfigured to provide each student with their own dedicated desk and space for the semester, so please let us know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE whether you prefer an on-site or on-line attendance option so we can hold a spot for your child.

Our fees will remain the same as last year as well as our classes with some changes in the schedule; like scheduled 1 on 1 time with your teacher.   Per CDC recommendations, we will be requiring masks and temperature checks before entering the building.

We will be doing curb-side drop-off to reduce the number of people coming in and out of the building but will be providing a way to keep spontaneous communication going between you and the teachers and staff through a new app that we will be sharing with you soon.

Our wonderful classroom sessions will remain intact with Readers and writers workshop, academic time and PBL Curiosity Studio.  And we are excited to announce that for Epic students, Epic has approved Summit as a core curriculum! This means that they will allow your child to use the work your child does on Summit as part of their core curriculum for Epic. This means you WILL NOT need a second curriculum like Moby Max, unless you and your Epic teacher decide an additional platform would benefit your child's education.

We will be holding some classes outside which we are excited about.   Outer wellness will take place with Block Walks for now (think the Halloween Parade without costumes meets nature walk) instead of visits to the park, although we are hoping to reinstate those soon.

We are hard at work creating a welcoming, new, magical space for our students that they will be able to call their own during the semester.  We are looking forward to seeing you soon - either in person or online.

Here's another reminder to be sure to shoot us an email to let us know if you are returning so we can hold your spot.  Email lyndee.knox@lablearning.org or torry.thompson@lablearning.org to let us know. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Best,

Lyndee and Mr. T
