Happenings in the K-3rd Classroom this week
This week students are continuing their work on personal narratives in Readers/Writer's Workshop and beginning work on their Curiosity Studio project on Animals. See the great "brainstorming" map they made as they worked together as a group to select the "theme" of their winter studio. Animals won the day! Students are finishing up their masks and continuing work on their playwriting and set-design skills as they create a class play with Kathryn.
Later this week and next our young students will be visiting China! Learning about the Chinese New Year, the culture, the art and the foods. During the WOW! art workshop, Kathryn will be introducing our students to Chinese painting, Qiana will be leading a WOW! Cooking workshop next week focused on foods of the Chinese New Year, and Brian Kinneman will start his monthly workshops with our young students this Thursday!
Happenings in Mr. T's class this week
Today was National Hug Day which led to lots of fun and laughter in Mr. T's class! Students continue to develop their character piece for readers and writers workshop, work on their "Body Parts" Curiosity Studio projects, and blast on with their personalized learning work on Summit! Students are planning some fun events for the Winter -a "lock-in" sometime next month, and possibly a Super Bowl party! So stay tuned.
